Gardner Sta-Kool, Elastomeric White Roof Coating is a quality flexible, white acrylic latex roof coating. This product resists cracking & peeling, while protecting underlying surfaces. It expands and contracts with the roof's movement to resist damage. The coating provides a protective barrier which reflects the sun's heat and destructive UV rays. In turn, this helps to cool roof surfaces and reduces interior heat gain and lowers cooling costs.

I ordered this product because of the good reviews. I had two 5 gallon buckets shipped to my house for a 14 x 66 mobile home. The reviews say it goes further than expected. I hired someone to coat the roof for me and he did two coats. I have half of a bucket left. While he was using it he said this was the nicest stuff he had ever put on. It rained about three hours later and none of it came off because I put buckets under the downspouts to check. Highly recommend.

I did no prep and laid down a thick coat over another type of elastomeric coating. Went on nicely and dried quickly. Took care of my problems. Have over half left. Will put another coat later this summer.

Worked great: easy to spread, covered well, dried fast (important since it unexpectedly rained really hard about 12 hours after application - no problem). No stirring seemed necessary (although I did anyway). This was on a recently-recovered rubber roof (on a 12 x 40 rowhouse in Baltimore) that I have to coat every 3-5 years in order to maintain the. I used two 5-gal. buckets in order to do two coats since this was the first time the new rubber roof has been coated/sealed; next time I should only need one 5-gal. bucket. So far the roof is noticeably cooler than last summer.
