    This is a rare souvenir program from the New York City Center Light Opera revival of the RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical "CAROUSEL" at the New York City Center of Music and Drama in New York City. (The production opened September 11th, 1957 and ran for a limited engagement of only 24 performances.) ..... The cast included BARBARA COOK as "Julie Jordan" and HOWARD KEEL as "Billy Bigelow" and included VICTOR MOORE, RUSSELL NYPE, PAT STANLEY, MARIE POWERS, BAMBI LYNN, JAMES MITCHELL, KAY MEDFORD and ROBERT PAGENT ..... CREDITS: Music by RICHARD RODGERS; Book and Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN 2nd based on the play "Liliom" by FERENC MOLNAR. (This was the second collaboration for Rodgers & Hammerstein after "Oklahoma!". They would go on to write "The King and I", "South Pacific", "Flower Drum Song" and "The Sound of Music" among others); Sets designed by OLIVER SMITH; Costumes designed by FLORENCE KLOTZ; Choreographed by AGNES DE MILLE; Restaged by ROBERT PAGENT; Directed by JOHN FEARNLEY; Produced by THE NEW YORK CITY CENTER LIGHT OPERA COMPANY ..... DETAILS: The oversized 16 page program measures 9" X 12" inches and includes full production credits, promotional text, photos and bios of each of the leading actors and bios of each member of the creative team. CONDITION: With the exception of a light corner crease at the top right, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian.
