This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the four-week, out-of-town tryout of the
E. Y. HARBURG, FRED SAIDY and SAMMY FAIN musical "JOLLYANNA" at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, California beginning August 11th, 1952. (This was a revised version of the musical flop "FLAHOOLEY" which had opened May 14th, 1951
at New York's Broadhurst Theatre
and closed after only 40 performances. "JOLLYANNA" opened August 11th, 1952 in San Francisco and closed the following month at the Philharmonic Auditorium in Los Angeles, failing to arrive in New York.) ..... This single page, one-sided handbill measures 6" X 9 1/2" inches and includes production credits, photos of the two stars, performance dates and ticket prices on the front. The backside is blank ..... CONDITION: With the exception of minor creasing at the corners, this rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
