Description
Graphene refers to a specific arrangement and orientation of carbon atoms. You could call graphene paint a new formulation of carbon paint, and you would be correct. But that would not express the unique, exciting properties that graphene possesses over traditional carbon-based coatings.Graphene itself is a sheet of individual carbon atoms in very close proximity and aligned in a hexagonal honeycomb array. This arrangement makes it very light and strong while providing exceptional electrical and heat conductivity.
Despite the numerous advantages that graphene already has to traditional resistive coatings, research into new and exciting use-cases for graphene is progressing rapidly. One of the most promising uses for graphene is in the area of corrosion control since it forms a strong mechanical bond with the underlying substrate and is resistant to water and oils. These properties make graphene particularly useful as an anti-corrosive coating on marine vessels which has the added benefit of increasing the lubrication of the vessel in the water. Other researchers are using a sprayable graphene aerosol that is conductive and anti-static for use in the electronics industry, among others. Even more potential uses include hermetic food packaging, flexible electronics, anti-bacterial coatings, non-stick coatings, UV-ray blockers, solar paints and even the ability to convert any standard graphene-coated surface into a viewing screen. It seems like more uses are found for this amazing compound almost daily!
Our water-based graphene paint comes in a 30 gram brush-cap bottle for easy application. Since our product is water based, it is non-hazardous and does not have shipping restrictions. It air-dries to a smooth finish in about 15 minutes and has a stark black appearance. There are no VOCs or harmful odors so it's environmentally friendly too!
