    This is a rare January 6th, 1930 broadside (single page playbill) from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the GEORGE GERSHWIN, IRA GERSHWIN and GEORGE S. KAUFMAN musical comedy "STRIKE UP THE BAND" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open January 14th, 1930 at the Times Square Theatre in New York City and run for 191 performances.) ..... The musical starred BOBBY CLARK and PAUL McCULLOUGH and featured BLANCHE RING, GORDON SMITH, ROBERT BENTLEY, DUDLEY CLEMENTS, ETHEL KENYON, DORIS CARSON, DORIS PATSON,  JERRY GOFF, MAURICE LAPUE, MARION MILLER, ETHEL BRITTON, VIRGINIA BARNES, WALTER FAIRMONT and JOYCE COLES with RED NICHOLS and his Orchestra .....
