This is a rare September 12th, 1973 "Stage" program from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the ALAN JAY LERNER and FREDERICK LOEWE musical "GIGI" at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. (The production would open November 13th, 1973 at the Uris Theatre in New York City and close after only 103 performances. A second attempt in the 1984-85 season would make stops in a number of U.S. cities, but fail to arrive on Broadway.) ..... Originally an Academy Award winning motion picture, the musical starred ALFRED DRAKE, AGNES MOOREHEAD, MARIA KARNILOVA, DANIEL MASSEY and KARIN WOLFE as "Gigi" and featured GEORGE GAYNES (whose role was eliminated out-of-town), JOE ROSS, TRUMAN GAIGE, SANDAHL BERGMAN and HOWARD CHITJIAN ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
