This is a rare January 1971 preview playbill from the Original Broadway production of the obscure JOSEPH MARTINEZ KOOKOOLIS and SCOTT FAGAN rock opera "SOON" which played the Ritz Theatre in New York City. (The production would open January 12th, 1971 and close after only three performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included PETER ALLEN (Broadway debut), DENNIS BELLINE, BARRY BOSTWICK, PENDLETON BROWN, JOSEPH CAMPBELL BUTLER, ANGUS CAIRNS, NELL CARTER (Broadway debut), PAUL EICHEL, LEATA GALLOWAY, RICHARD GERE (Broadway debut), MARTA HEFLIN, DEL HINKLEY, MICHAEL JASON, TONY MIDDLETON, JOHN C. NELSON, PAMELA PENTONY, MARION RAMSEY, VICKI SUE ROBINSON (Broadway debut), LARRY SPINELLI and SINGER WILLIAMS ..... Side Note:Soon
started previews the first week of December, and was scheduled to open on December 16th, 1970. Instead, the show shut down early to go back into rehearsal and re-work an obviously troubled production. Co-author and lyricist SCOTT FAGAN was replaced by BARRY BOSTWICK in the role of "Kelly" before previews resumed on December 28th, 1970.
