    This is a rare November 8th, 1951 "Playgoer" playbill from the three-night, Post-Broadway engagement of the TENNESSEE WILLIAMS play "THE ROSE TATTOO" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production opened February 3rd, 1951 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City and ran for 306 performances before going on the road.) ..... The Tony Award winning "Best Play" starred MAUREEN STAPLETON and ELI WALLACH (both won Tony Awards for their roles) and featured LUDMILLA TORETZKA, SALLY HESTER, LILA PARIS, DAISY BELMORE, ROSSANA SAN MARCO, AUGUSTA MERIGHI, PEARL SOMNER, SYBIL LEVENSON, DOROTHY ESTLER, MARTIN BALSAM, WILLIAM MAJOR, DORRIT KELTON, CONNIE DAVIS, CAMILA ASHLAND, DON MURRAY, CLAUDE AIKENS, WILLIAM KROTT and BILL FROELICH ..... CONDITION: With the exception of minor edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
