    This is a rare four-page program (playbill) from the Post-Broadway engagement of the WINTHROP AMES' GILBERT and SULLIVAN OPERA COMPANY in repertory at the Shubert-Plymouth Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The engagement originally opened April 19th, 1926 at Plymouth Theatre in New York City and ran for 255 performances before going on the road. The Boston engagement opened April 4th, 1927.) ..... The company presented the GILBERT and SULLIVAN comic operas "THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE" (or "The Slave of Duty") and "IOLANTHE" (or "The Peer and the Peri") and the cast included ERNEST LAWFORD, JOHN BARCLAY, J. May 3) written inside the cover and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian.
